Deciding to Buy...

Our affair with this Gracious Lady started on 4 July 1998. We attended the airshow at Galveston's Shoels Field and were pleased to meet Eileen and Gene Stansbery and their Dragon Lady.

John was at once struck with the beauty of the dihedral wing design and the fact that it is not only a good, sturdy cruising plane, but also a good airplane for basic aerobatics. We were hooked! Our next task was to find out as much information as we could about the airplane. Some of our on-line sources were:
  • Yakity Yaks - This is were we ultimately purchased our aircraft from but they have a lot of good information about the CJ6A.

  • Yak Pilots' Association - This club was originally started for Yak owners, but since the design of the CJ6A is based on the Yak, it was expanded to include CJ6A owners as well. From the club you can obtain some good technical bulletins. Join the club and you'll get a list of all the other CJ6A owners.
